Nonchalant Music is an independent songwriting and music project built around original songs, melodies, and instrumental music across a variety of styles.

From singer-songwriter and acoustic music to jazz, rock, and atmospheric instrumentals, there isn’t one particular sound that defines Nonchalant Music. The common thread is the songwriting.

The site is run by yours truly, Jeff Montgomery. I’m a longtime amateur musician and songwriter with a simple goal: to create good songs and music. I use the instruments I have at hand, along with today’s technology, to turn musical ideas into finished recordings.

Some recordings begin simply with a voice, guitar, or piano. Others are developed into fully produced arrangements using both traditional recording techniques and today’s creative technology.

The goal is simple: write memorable songs, follow interesting musical ideas wherever they lead, and make music worth hearing.
